Lorsqu'on évoque le football universitaire et des universités emblématiques, Penn State et l'USC (University of Southern California) figurent incontestablement parmi les programmes les plus prestigieux. Bien que leur domination ait légèrement diminué ces dernières années, l'histoire témoigne de leur grandeur avec onze titres nationaux pour l'USC et deux pour Penn State, soulignant le passé glorieux de ces deux institutions. Although their dominance has slightly waned in recent years, history attests to their greatness with eleven national titles for USC and two for Penn State, highlighting the glorious past of these two institutions. It should also be noted that, unlike many other teams, no player from either team wears their name on their jersey, only their number, thus emphasizing the importance of the team over the individual and paying tribute to the history of football.
An Epic Showdown in Los Angeles
Attending this confrontation on Saturday as media was the icing on the cake of an intense weekend spent between Seattle and Los Angeles. The USC Trojans hosted the Penn State Nittany Lions at their home turf, the Los Angeles Coliseum. Penn State, ranked fourth in the Big Ten Conference and undefeated (5-0), had not faced the Trojans on their home ground since 1991, making the Lions slight favorites for this matchup under the Californian sun.
